You really should get out there and test drive one. it felt low to the ground and it had great handling.i was whipping around turns with a 70 year old salesman telling me to slow down lol. i went home and couldnt stop thinking about how great i felt in the car. i never experienced a test drive where i wanted to just keep driving. i read that they were pretty rare, and realized that's why they had little to no information on it. it wasnt until my uncle loaned me a consumer reports book with the spyder in it.it had no data, which i thought was pretty curious. i considered almost every sports car out there and exhausted myself looking on the internet everyday. on average they were more expensive and less appealing to the eye, to me. I never drove an s2000 but considered one when I bought my spyder. Guess i have to go and drive them.i've been riding motobikes for a while, so want to get back into something low-weight, that's why the mr-s and s2k came to mind. thank God for practically no law enforcement in the Middle East.ĩ2 E300- gave to my sister, who didn't understand that engines require oil to work. didn't know kit came w/ header and intake, though, thats a plus.Īny1 know what comes with the Hass kit? know it comes w/ greddy & base map, but thats about it. getting a power FC from a friend's project car that didn't end up happening. In remark to the 'i have my head up my ass about the turbo part', i've never installed a turbo, but know the basics. I really appreciate the input, the only other small roadster type cars i've driven thoroughly are a del sol and a boxster. Currently riding a yamaha liter bike, so everytime i get back into a car, i always feel power-shy. And it is additional weight.ĭidn't mean to use the word weazy, hope i didn't offend any1 w/ that. Anything you are lugging around is just going to bounce and shift as you go through the twisties anyway. This aint a grocery getter it is a sports car. I have only heard a few of the S2k exhausts in person though so perhaps there is a really good one that I haven't heard yet. The Spyder sounds better with an aftermarket exhaust IMO then the S2k with an aftermarket exhaust. ![]() Could just be the tires on the car I drive but it is a bit unnerving. The S2k loves to step out the rear under a hard shift. A counter sunk Voodoo knob does help though. The S2k has a better shifter stock but after you do a short shifter in the Spyder along with solid bushings the Spyder has a better feeling shifter. I am sure it is but the lack of torque even with Vtec doesn't make the car feel all that fast. The S2k has more power out of the box but IMO it doesn't really feel that much faster then the Spyder. I also have owned a Spyder for almost 4 years now. Boost is crazy, the back end can come around quite fast. That stuff aside, the car is fun as hell to drive with a turbo. Wheezy you say? Not if you can drive it correctly. PM Ike (he has a supercharged s2k and missed the spyder feel), he bought my other car. I sold my previous spyder to a current s2k owner because he said nothing has the feel that the spyder does. Not trying to knock you but how old are you? Have you driven a spyder at all or an s2k? There are some s2k converts over here. Do some more research because it looks like you are doing some desktop racing and not ready anything practical. You didn't mention any bracing either.Īlso don't forget to set aside a "what if something happens" fund when it comes to adding a turbo into any car. The PE comes with a "header" exhaust manifold as well a cold air intake so I'm not sure you know what you are talking about.Īnd $600 on suspension components? That won't even get you coilovers. You need engine management, tuning, some sort of an intercooler is nice $$$. Click to expand. It sounds like you need to do a little more research my friend.
